On behalf of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, we cordially invite you to the 10th Biennial ISAKOS Congress in Lyon, France. This is a special year for ISAKOS as it is the 20th anniversary of the Society! The ISAKOS Congress continues to be considered the premier international meeting providing a diverse and unique opportunity for attendees to share, discuss and learn the latest advancements in arthroscopy, knee surgery and sports medicine.

The five-day Congress will include a variety of educational opportunities such as surgical demonstrations, paper presentations, debates, lectures, symposia and instructional course lectures. Lunch time hands-on workshops, electronic posters and technical exhibits will also be offered. The ISAKOS Congress provides a variety of new prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical technique information, allowing attendees to expand their knowledge and enhance their surgical skills.

We encourage you to submit abstracts early – Submission opens September 1, 2013. The abstracts will be considered for podium presentations and/or electronic posters. In addition, exceptional abstracts are considered for several ISAKOS Awards for outstanding clinical or laboratory research. Awards include honoraria and free registration and are recognized in an Awards Ceremony at the Congress.

The beautiful city of Lyon is a classic backdrop for an ISAKOS Congress. With over 2000 years of colorful, tumultuous and thriving history, this French city celebrates the art of living, luxury and fine cuisine. The ISAKOS Congress will also host a variety of social events such as; the Welcome Reception for all Congress attendees and their guests, a spouse and guest program and a special tour program.

General Info:

Attendees may register one of three methods.

  • Online at the ISAKOS website
  • Mail the Registration form and payment to the ISAKOS Office
  • Fax the Registration form and payment to the ISAKOS Office

To pre-register via mail or fax, please complete the registration form. Make sure to include all contact information (email address, mailing address, telephone and fax) to ensure receipt of your Registration Confirmation Email. All registrations must be accompanied by payment. Registrations without payment will not be processed. If you are registering a group on their behalf, please contact the ISAKOS office for further information.

Registering Online

Attendees may register for the 2015 ISAKOS Congress online using their credit card (American Express, MasterCard or Visa). Simply follow the instructions on our secure site to register.

Registering by Mail

Attendees may mail their completed registration form with credit card information or check to the ISAKOS Office. Please note all checks must be in US Dollars from a US Bank. Checks should be payable to ISAKOS.

Registrants can pay for their registration fees in three ways: by credit card, by check and by wire transfer.

  • Credit Card - ISAKOS accepts American Express, MasterCard and Visa. Please note that charges will be processed immediately when the registration is completed. If your credit card is declined, please try another card or contact the ISAKOS Office about alternate forms of payment.
  • Checks - ISAKOS will accept checks for payment of registration fees. The check must be from a US banks in US dollars. The checks must be mailed to the ISAKOS Office (please do not fax a copy of the check). Please note that your registration will not be completed if the check cannot be deposited.
  • Wire Transfer - Wire transfers are only available by contacting the ISAKOS. Wire transfers must be accompanied by a Wire Transfer Authorization form and contain specific information related to the registrant. Wire transfer forms must be faxed to the ISAKOS Office with the registration forms. Please note that registrations will not be processed until the wire transfer is received in the ISAKOS bank account.

The 2015 ISAKOS Congress will be held at the Lyon Convention Centre at the Cité Internationale. The Cité Internationale is harmoniously integrated between the Rhône River and a 105 hectares park designed but the Italian architect Renzo Piano. The Cité Internationale also houses three hotels, a cinema complex, an art museum and many shops and restaurants.

Submission Info

ISAKOS is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 2015 Congress will open September 1, 2013. The deadline for submission has been extended until September 10, 2014 at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Standard Time - abstracts will not be accepted after that time.

Presenting Authors need to have the following information readily available when submitting an abstract:

  1. Presenting Author’s login email and password for ISAKOS (if a record does not exist for the Presenting Author you will be directed to create a record)
  2. Complete contact information for the Presenting Author including the institution of research.
  3. The ISAKOS ID number for as many authors as possible (contact the ISAKOS Office to obtain an author's ISAKOS ID number – please do not make duplicate records.)
  4. Provide the abstract title in proper-case for publishing (i.e. The Science of Orthopaedic Surgery)
  5. Provide the abstract as plain text, graphics and tables are not accepted.
  6. Financial Disclosure, American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Copyright License information on behalf of all authors.
Editorial Guidelines for Abstract Submission

Author warranty: Persons submitting an abstract to ISAKOS do so with the understanding that they and all the authors listed on the abstract will abide by the guidelines, conditions, deadlines, policies and decisions of the ISAKOS Board of Directors and Program Committee.

  1. The deadline for abstract submission has been extended until September 10, 2014 at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Abstracts will not be accepted after that time.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted from the ISAKOS account of the Presenting Author.
  3. Authors do not have to be ISAKOS members to submit an abstract.
  4. There is no limit to the number of abstracts that can be submitted for consideration; however each presenting author will be limited to no more than two paper presentations during the ISAKOS Congress.
  5. If the abstract is accepted for podium presentation, all presenters must speak in English, and be prepared to answer questions from the audience in English.
  6. All presenters, co-authors, faculty members, etc. who will attend the Congress are expected to register for the meeting and pay all registration and travel costs. No exceptions are made. If attendance is dependent on outside funding, please secure financial assistance before submitting an abstract.
  7. Abstracts are only accepted for consideration via the online abstract application form. Abstracts submitted in any other fashion will not be considered for presentation.
  8. The ISAKOS Program Committee will make final decisions on the mode of presentation however; efforts will be made to comply with the stated preference, paper/podium, poster or e-poster presentation.
  9. Presenting Authors must complete a Financial Disclosure Statement and an American Food and Drug Administration statement.
    *Although ISAKOS is an international society, it receives continuing medical education accreditation and is planned and implemented with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). ISAKOS does not view the existence of disclosed interest or investments as necessarily implying bias or decreasing the value of the presentation. These disclosures will not be seen or taken into consideration when the abstract is considered for presentation.
  10. Presenting Authors must complete a Copyright License Agreement so the chosen abstracts can be published in the journal Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery; the ISAKOS final program; the ISAKOS Congress proceedings; and on the ISAKOS and Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery websites.
