Event Overview
Welcome message:

On behalf of the UK and Ireland Vasculitis Society, we are proud to host the 17th International Vasculitis & ANCA Workshop (Vasculitis 2015) at the Business Design Centre in London on 19-22 April 2015. Our meeting will take place 27 years after the first Workshop, held in Copenhagen shortly after the discovery of ANCA.  Since that time, remarkable progress has been made in the understanding of vasculitis.  The pathogenic role of ANCA in small vessel vasculitis has been extensively studied, and testing for ANCA has become a routine diagnostic procedure.  This has catalysed the development of therapeutic trials to optimise conventional therapies and examine the role of novel approaches, such as biological agents.

At the 2015 meeting, we will extend the scope of the programme to include more on medium and large vessel vasculitis, and on other diseases in which vasculitis is a major feature.  We also plan to stimulate discussion by organising sessions on particularly controversial topics.

Our Workshop will be multidisciplinary and multiprofessional, and importantly will include contributions from patients. The meeting will give you the opportunity to hear about the latest advances in the field of vasculitis, and to network with healthcare professionals and scientists who share your interests.  There will be time to meet up socially and enjoy the facilities provided by one of the world’s great capital cities.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us and contribute to what should be an extremely stimulating and enjoyable meeting.

With best wishes,

Professor Charles Pusey

Professor Alan Salama
