We are excited and privileged to announce the first Annual Conference of the Cancer & the Kidney International Network (C-KIN). This first time meeting will be hosted in Brussels, Belgium at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 14–15 April 2015.

This prestigious event will feature a selection of plenary and Parallel sessions offered by a distinguished panel of international speakers from a range of professional backgrounds in academia and industrial fields, all relevant to cancer and kidney related issues. Oral communication sessions and poster exhibition will also deliver the latest breaking research from among the abstracts submitted to the conference.

This first meeting will mainly discuss anticancer drugs and the kidney (chemotherapies and targeted therapies) and specific supportive care in cancer patients with CKD. New ways to develop clinical research in the field will also be addressed in a specific session.

Looking at recent research into kidney related illnesses, data has shown that in 25% of cancer patients, 12% were present with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD); not only does this reflect the importance of cancer related kidney issues, but the significance of developing a professional knowledge and learning of how to screen CKD within cancer patients.

C-KIN Annual Conference 2015 will further aid professionals on how to handle the correct treatments for patients; based on the 12% of patients with CKD, up to 80% received kidney-harmful toxic anticancer drugs, requiring a better understanding of correct dosages, handling of drugs and how to deal with the symptoms linked with CKD.

Professions including the care and treatment of cancer patients, academic research and industry medical and research teams are all welcome to expand their overall understanding and deliverance of both treatment and research aiding cancer-inflicted patients with kidney related issues at C-KIN 2015.
